SHANGHAI — Sei Younger Kim of South Korea held on to her lead with a 2-under 70 within the second spherical of the Buick LPGA Shanghai match on Friday.
Kim has a two-round complete of 12-under 132 after opening with 62 — her lowest spherical of the season — as she seems to be for her first victory in 2024.
Kim was one shot forward of Lucy Li of the US and Mao Saigo of Japan. Li shot a 4-under 68 and Saigo carded a 7-under 65.
Two of the LPGA’s prime gamers — Nelly Korda and Lydia Ko — will not be within the discipline this week in China. Each are entered subsequent week within the BMW Women Championship in South Korea.
Saigo and Li are each searching for their first victories on the LPGA Tour. Kim has 12 LPGA Tour wins.
Minjee Lee shot 67 to path the chief by two photographs in fourth place, and Yealimi Noh (67) trails by three.
The chasing discipline is crowded heading into Saturday’s third spherical with 9 golfers tied for sixth and simply 4 photographs off the lead.
