For the second race in succession, Lando Norris will begin from pole place when the lights exit at Monza, with McLaren having locked out the entrance row for Ferrari’s dwelling Grand Prix. In the meantime, the person he’s chasing for the 2024 title – Pink Bull’s Max Verstappen – is just seventh on the grid.
The Tifosi will nonetheless be in good spirits – the scarlet vehicles of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz line up fourth and fifth behind Norris, the sister McLaren of Oscar Piastri and the Mercedes of George Russell, whose workforce mate Lewis Hamilton completes the highest six.
Then comes world champion Verstappen and workforce mate Sergio Perez, with Alex Albon and Nico Hulkenberg rounding out the highest 10 after excellent qualifying performances for Williams and Haas respectively.
And speaking of Williams, look out for his or her new driver Franco Colapinto, who begins his debut Grand Prix from P18 forward of the Kick Saubers of Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu.
