Maverick Vinales continued his sturdy current run of type by topping the MotoGP warmup session Sunday morning on the Pink Bull Grand Prix of The Americas at Circuit of The Americas (COTA), in Austin, Texas.
Driving his manufacturing facility Aprilia RS-GP on Michelin management tires, the Dash race winner led the 22-rider area with a time of 2:02.341 across the 3.4-mile (5.5 km), 20-turn circuit.
Six-time MotoGP World Champion Marc Marquez was second-best with a 2:02.517 on his Gresini Racing Ducati Desmosedici GP23, and Raul Fernandez jumped up the order to 3rd with a time of two:02.795 on his Trackhouse Racing Aprilia RS-GP.
The total-length MotoGP race is scheduled to begin at 2:00 p.m. Central Time.
