Robert John MacLean

Robert John MacLean (Bob), devoted husband, father, and educator handed away peacefully at his house in Wilson, Wyoming on December 14, 2024, on the age of 87. Born on February 18, 1937, in Coronado, California to Robert John MacLean and Mary Witty MacLean. Bob led a life marked by deep dedication to training, sports activities, and neighborhood.
A graduate of Bronxville Excessive Faculty (Class of 1955), Bob earned a BA in English from Colby Faculty in 1960. After Colby, Bob served three years in america Military Nationwide Guard. His love of instructing led him to a distinguished profession as an educator, starting with The Allen Stevenson Faculty in New York Metropolis. He later joined Rye Nation Day Faculty, the place he taught English, and spearheaded the development and operation of the Gerald LaGrange Discipline Home, an ice hockey rink and tennis complicated. Bob was the top coach of the Varsity Hockey and Lacrosse groups and served as an assistant Varsity Soccer coach. As well as, he shared his love of hockey with the Wildcat Hockey Camp, which he based and ran for a number of years. Bob’s dedication to the game was additional exemplified by his participation within the Grasp Coaches Clinic, with Fred Shero as headmaster. He served as Chairman of the Hockey Committee for the Hickory Hill Skating Rink in Katonah, NY. He was President of the Southern New England Interscholastic Ice Hockey Coaches Affiliation and was a member of the American Hockey Coaches’ Affiliation.
After a few years of racing bikes himself, Bob based World Championship Motorsports in 1991, of which he was the co-owner/ operator till 2005. WCM competed on the highest degree of Worldwide Motorsports within the FIM Grand Prix Bike sequence. His entrepreneurial spirit, like his dedication to training and athletics, was a testomony to his expertise as a pacesetter.
Bob was deeply concerned locally, notably serving on the Board of South Kent Faculty from 1990 to 1999, together with as President from 1995 to 1999, the place his management and generosity helped form the varsity’s future. Bob was additionally an energetic board member of the Teton County Sheriff’s Auxiliary for over 20 years and served on the New York Board of the Shakespeare Globe.
In Wilson, Wyoming, Bob discovered peace and achievement in his love of fly fishing and spending time on his ranch. A supporter of native causes, he contributed to organizations such because the Jackson Gap Land Belief and the Nationwide Museum of Wildlife Artwork, reflecting his deep appreciation for the pure great thing about the area.
Above all, Bob’s best pleasure was his household. He’s survived by his spouse of 64 years, Mary Anna (Marna) MacLean. They raised three sons in Waccabuc, NY and later break up their time between Misplaced Tree Village, Florida and their house in Wilson, Wyoming. Bob can also be survived by his three sons, Chris MacLean (Cathryn Kishbaugh), Ian MacLean and Mark MacLean (Marsha Yamaykina) and his 5 grandchildren.
Bob’s love of life, his humorousness, and constructive outlook can be remembered by his family and friends.
